Colorado Licensed Professional
Engineer and Land Surveyor
Brian Krombein is a licensed
Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor with over 20
years of experience in civil engineering design and management as
well as land surveying. He has professional experience in a
wide range of engineering projects including small to large
commercial and residential developments plus public improvement
projects. His experience includes site planning, annexation,
zoning, platting, potable water, wastewater, overlot grading,
detailed grading, roadway design, storm drainage, water quality,
and erosion control. Brian’s land survey experience
ranges from field work to preparation of boundary, topographic and
ALTA surveys, subdivision plats, legal descriptions, unit
construction (Plot Plan, ILC, Form Check, Drainage Certificates)
and office support of construction staking.
Brian began his career on land
survey crews during his college years. After graduation from
Colorado State University with a BS in Civil Engineering he spent 6
years at large engineering firms learning the business while
working on a wide range of projects including large, single-family
subdivisions and multi-family developments. He then moved on
to a leadership position in a small engineering firm for the
following 12 years. As a project manager and
engineering department manager Brian led teams in preparing full
engineering plans, survey documents, drainage and utility studies,
and cost analysis.
In 2013 the time was right for
Brian to form Vermilion Peak Engineering with the vision of
providing the focused attention and responsiveness required by the
smaller developer or architect who commonly "falls through the
cracks" at larger engineering firms.
